Message from the Head December 18th 2015

Thank you for supporting such a good cause today ‘Text Santa-Save the Children’ by sending your children in their Christmas jumpers. We are also saying goodbye to one of our longest serving members of staff today. Mrs Cooke has been a teaching assistant at the upper school for 19 years. She returns today and we wish her a happy and healthy retirement. Apologies for any confusion caused by the church services. The number on roll at the lower school enable us to accommodate parents as well but we have so many children in upper school , we can’t even seat all the children so sadly we cannot accommodate parents. There have been a number of comments on the PTA Facebook page about parents not knowing arrangements for the parties. We did not require any food contributions or party clothes so there was nothing to inform parents about. Children had a fabulous time and all received a gift from Santa paid for this year by the school. Year 2 are having a special day on the first day back Tuesday 5th January — they need to dress up in a theme of ‘towers, tunnels and turrets’ so knights , princes, princesses, servants or anything else you can think of within the theme. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all involved on a very successful first term as The Canons and for your continued support. It just remains for me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
