We were delighted to receive several pumpkins, courgettes and marrows as part of our harvest collection. Including the biggest pumpkin we have ever seen, grown by a local resident on one of the allotments. Since the Foodbank only accepts tins and packets we are planning to make some seasonal pumpkin soup. A group of children will work with the school cook to prepare the soup which we will sample on Monday 31st October when we return!
Can we ask that if somebody else needs to pick up your child on your behalf you let the lower school know in advance, if you children are in Key Stage 1. If your child is in Key Stage 2 can you ensure that your representative knows where to be. We have had a few incidents lately of people waiting for Year 5 pupils on the lower playground causing distress to both the adult and the child.
Letters have now been sent to all parents who have money owing. Many thanks to all those who have been into school or cleared payments online. For those who have failed to do so due to dinner money, please send your child with a packed lunch after half term as we cannot allow further credit to those who have incurred such debts. When the debt is recovered we will review the situation. As stated last week, we are not in a position to write off such debt and do need to take further action to recoup all monies owed. We have urged parents to come and discuss any difficulty around the payment. For those parents who have not engaged with us we cannot make allowances.
Can I remind parents who did not attend parents’ evening that we do need to see you to discuss your child’s progress. Please expect a call to arrange an appointment which is mutually convenient.
